Rules for ALL Ranges
- Always Keep Firearms Pointed in a Safe Direction.
- Treat ALL Firearms as Though They are Loaded.
- Keep Your Finger OFF the Trigger until You are Ready to Shoot.
- Safety is everyone’s responsibility
- Wear your TCGC Badge.
- Hearing and eye protection is required by all
- No alcohol.
- No hunting.
- No visibly holstered firearms.
Rifle and Pistol Range Rules
- Shooting times: 8:00 am (9:00 am Sunday) to Dusk
- Range Officers are in charge
- All firearms must be unloaded and cased when carrying from the vehicle to the firing line or back to the vehicle
- Firearms must be cased when moving more than one shooting bench
- Only one uncased firearm allowed on the shooting bench at any time
- Cross-station shooting allowed one station to either side of your firing station
- The person wanting a cold range should turn on the RED lights. No firearms, cased firearms, magazines or ammo are to be handled during a COLD range. The person that wanted a cold range will turn off the RED lights for a HOT range
- All rounds should impact the center of the berm. Use only wood or PVC for target stands
- Do not shoot anything that may cause a ricochet, explode or roll. No explosive targets
Trap and Skeet Rules
- Shooting times: 8:00 am (9:00 am Sunday) to Dusk
- Range Attendants are in charge
- All firearms must be unloaded with the actions open when carried from the vehicle to the shooting areas or back to the vehicle
- Use hand-throwing devices only from the skeet field
- Universal trap and skeet etiquette shall be maintained at all times
Indoor Pistol Range
**NO RIFLES**
- Shooting times: 8:00 AM (9:00 AM Sunday) to 8:00 PM.
- Doors must be down after dusk.
- Range Officers are in charge.
- All Firearms MUST be unloaded & cased when carrying to and from the building.
- Firearms MUST be cased when:
- Moving more than one shooting bench or
- Moving to and from a staging location.
- Only one uncased firearm is allowed on the shooting bench at any time.
- Firearms must not be loaded until on the firing line
- Cross-station shooting allowed one position to either side of your firing location.
- All rounds should impact the steel backstop.
- Use only wood or plastic for target stands.
- Do not shoot anything that may explode, roll, or cause a ricochet.
- COLD RANGE PROCEDURE:
- The person wanting a cold range should turn on the RED lights, after making sure the rest of the line is ready for a cold range.
- No firearms, magazines, clips, or ammo are to be touched during a COLD range.
- The person that wanted a cold range will turn off the RED lights for a hot range.
- Behind Backstop Procedures:
- Check the shooting area and inform all present to leave the building.
- Hang the sign on the door:RANGE CLOSED FOR MAINTENANCE
- Lock deadbolt on front door once range is empty.
- When done, unlock the deadbolt and remove sign.
**CALIBER RESTRICTIONS FOR INDOOR RANGE**
NO BOTTLENECK CARTRIDGES EVEN IF SHOT IN A PISTOL EXCEPT THOSE DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR PISTOLS SUCH AS 357 SIG AND 5.7X28.
NO STRAIGHT WALL CARTRIDGE DESIGNED FOR RIFLES SUCH AS 350 LEGEND EVEN IF SHOT IN A PISTOL. THE ONE EXCEPTION IS 30 CARBINE.
